The part that’s not being talked about enough is with these recommendations is the insurance implications if approved, and THAT is where folks will be harmed.

If you have to be counseled before getting the vaccine, that means you’ll first need an appointment —first hurdle.

Me, a public health person, also reflecting on the fact that the people who experience this the most still are Black families.

Black Women are still 3x more likely to experience this than their white women counterparts. While calling out public health failures, we have to include systemic racism.
Me, a public health person, just sitting over here reflecting on the fact that the US has experienced a 7% increase in infant mortality post-Dobbs.

Like, do you realize what that says about this society from an ethical perspective? That we made policy choices that caused this?

It’s not a matter of “if”, but “when”. He’s clearly demonstrated once that human life isn’t important to him and that he doesn’t believe in science. It’s now our turn AGAIN to right the wrongs with facts and community.
With Donald Trump’s picks to head HHS, CDC, FDA and NIH, he insures that if there is another deadly pandemic during his term, the consequences will be far more dire than last time.

This is terrible. As a nation, the US reads below a 6th grade level, and the majority of that information is now taken in digitally. Literacy and being able to identify misinformation directly impacts health outcomes.
