How should I trust AI tools when they tell me things that contradict what I'm seeing, and then say "I Was Wrong Earlier"?

They are good at finding explanations for *anything*, no matter whether it's true or not :-(

Wow, that’s amazing! Ganesh, Bjorn, Dieter, Krajo, and many others … congrats!

(Does that include NHs with custom buckets?)
Native Histogram considered stable in @Prometheus.io going forward! 🥳

Most people cannot name a single astronomer. If I could change that to one person it would be Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin.

I've never read her thesis. I think I'll fix that.
Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin ✨ figured out what stars are made of ✨ when she was just 25. 🔭🧪

Her PhD thesis basically established the Harvard astro department — at a time when Harvard didn't officially allow woman students.

I wrote this little profile to mark the 100th anniversary of her thesis:

Oh, I have listened to this album so many times. ❤️
On this day in 2003, DMB performed a historic concert at the Central Park in NYC. The show was later released as the now classic The Central Park Concert. Raise your 🖐 if you were you there! #DMBHistory

Amusing how 99% of people using LLMs forget how these things work:

They are advanced probability machines. They generate the next most likely token (word) based in the input and their training.

Under the hood, it’s a giant matrix multiplication that has eerily good output.

A product that (almost) everyone uses from mid-sized tech companies and up but I rarely hear talked about: Grafana

In The Pragmatic Engineer 2025 survey, it had more mentions than Cursor, and dominates as the answer to "how do you turn information into graphs"

This is Grafana:

Can LLMs replace on call SREs today?
We often hear that LLMs will soon replace SREs. We wanted to test that claim, so we ran an experiment. Read the blog to see what we found.
