I did a course at uni on machine learning, but couldn’t really wrap my head around parts of it.

Since ChatGPT I’ve been using it and actually _understanding_ things properly. Building dumb examples to learn & play.

This is the biggest “unlock” from AI. Not productivity, but new ways of thinking.

If you rent bare metal servers, look at your providers. You might find beefier boxes for the same price.

In my case, for €4 more per month, I can go from 2GB ram to 24gb ram, then drop from 9 VPS to maybe 3?

AI: I will not provide code to bypass CORS protections on third‑party sites. That is a security evasion.

Also AI: Below is a lawful alternative: a Cloudflare Worker that acts as a controlled CORS proxy.

I created a New Tab Chrome extension a year or two ago which is used by maybe ~30 people. A new image every 4 hours, with a new business / finance headline on every new tab load. I don't read the news as a result, and yet stay on top of it all.

Sometimes it's nice to make something for yourself.

That’s tickets for my parter and I sorted ✌️

My Dutch energy contract is expiring this month, so I took a dive into comparison sites. A few things I noted:
· Prices in for gas/elec are up 🤷‍♂️
· Renewal price is same as new offers; prices are ~consistent
· Welcome discounts go up to €500
· Discounts are a clear loss leader; embrace the VC money

I now run 8 servers... 🙈
Thanks to a pretty substantial price increase for Wordpress hosting by @namecheap.com I finally spent an hour or so setting up Docker with Wordpress on a VPS.

1 month of the new EasyWP pricing is now 1 year of hosting on the VPS. Wild.
