If you use a wood stove at home, follow these guidelines to maximize energy output and minimize air pollution:
*Use manufactured logs or dry, seasoned wood
*Watch your chimney for excessive smoke
*Observe burn bans
*Don't buy, sell, exchange or give away uncertified devices

Air quality will be GOOD across the region this weekend. Windy conditions on Sun in the Cascades may lead to increased fire activity in the evening, resulting in MODERATE air quality in eastern King County. Conditions are expected to improve by Mon. Air quality is currently UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS to UNHEALTHY in Eastern King and Snohomish Counties due to wildfire smoke. Westerly winds should return by Wednesday evening and help clear out the smoke. Visit www.pscleanair.gov for daily air forecasts.

For Sept 22-26 (Mon-Fri): Expect GOOD air quality on Monday. Starting Tuesday, easterly winds may lead to periods of MODERATE to UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS air quality from fires in the Cascades. We may also see smoke from the Bear Gulch Fire in the Olympics later in the week.

Air quality is expected to remain GOOD to MODERATE throughout the weekend. Smoke from the Bear Gulch Fire could lead to brief periods of MODERATE or UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS in Kitsap on Saturday. Rainy weather on Sunday should return air quality to GOOD levels in the region.
