There's something nostalgic in talking about GRAD shelling now. "You could hear the missiles rustling in the air well before they exploded and you could always lie down on the ground, I was never even afraid of GRADs" - brags the soldier, at a random petrol station bar on the Kharkiv motorway.

A survey taken by the British newspaper Sunday Dispatch in 1940 asked readers what kind of a film ending they prefer... The majority of 577 people who responded said they like to see the dead heroes and heroines of the story marching off reborn, as it were, and fading into the sunset.
