He/They/him/them

This space is home to the unpredictable musings that wander through the gray matter in my skull.

Voted yesterday.
A Democrat just flipped a heavily Republican district in North Fort Worth, Texas.

Turns out turnout, organizing, and showing up still work.

If you’re tired of the current direction of the country
but skip the primaries…

that’s like complaining about the menu
after refusing to help choose the restaurant.

In March, we vote, we organize, and we repeat in November. #FDT

New rule for dating in America:

Before things get serious, we talk about:
• voting rights
• bodily autonomy
• protecting minorities

If that kills the vibe,
it was never going to last anyway.

Watching the Donald Trump era unfold
taught me something uncomfortable:

Democracy rarely collapses from one dramatic act.
It erodes when people decide some harm is “acceptable”
as long as it doesn’t hit them yet.

History is asking us if we’re paying attention. Are you paying attention?! #FDT

One of the most dangerous myths we tell ourselves is:
“We’d recognize it if it were happening.”

Germany didn’t wake up one day under Adolf Hitler.
It arrived through rallies, rhetoric, and gradual permission.

That’s the part people forget. Stop being permissive and stand up!

Step 1: Undermine trust in journalists.
Step 2: Frame critics as enemies of “the people.”
Step 3: Normalize cruelty as strength.

If this sounds familiar, that’s not an accident.
It’s a pattern. And it’s happening again.

Weird how often people say
“This feels unprecedented”
about things that are actually… very precedented. 🙃

History doesn’t repeat itself loudly; it starts with people shrugging. 🤷‍♀️🤷🤷‍♂️

I try to pause when I feel irritated by someone’s behavior.
Sometimes it’s less about them
and more about a mirror I didn’t ask for.

Anyway. Back to self-reflection. Get it? Self-REFLECTION? 🪞😀

I work in refugee services; I teach ESL to refugees. All refugee service programs are losing funding. I am losing my job. The refugees are not only losing their English classes, but they are losing jobs, rent assistance, health benefits, and other aid. Refugees are legally DOCUMENTED migrants…SMH🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Guys, I’m SUPER optimistic about the future. No, not because of Tru…you must be joking! 🫢🤢🤮 No, it’s because I wholeheartedly believe that this is an alternate reality where aliens (yes, extra terrestrials) will invade earth and become our new global leaders.

Yass gawd! ⭐️🛸👽Slay! 💅🏳️‍🌈✨ I’m okay to go!

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need to justify your reading preferences and choices to anyone. Audiobooks count as reading. Also, you don't have to finish books you don't enjoy. Don't read to impress, read for yourself. Life's too short, love yourself, ok?

Is anyone else starting to feel like Squidward from the “Squidville” episode of SpongeBob SquarePants season 2? You know, specifically that part where he does the same thing every day and visually looks burnt out?

My days are blending together; I can feel myself disassociating more and more. Fierce

Anytime I gain a new follower, I feel as if I’ve gained another stalker.

“Who is that?”
“Are they still following me?”
“WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!”
