I ran into Peter Rivest from the Haileybury legion at the North Cobalt Flea Market.
Make sure you buy a poppy to support our veterans. This is the week that we remember the huge cost that Canadians paid in the fight for democracy.
Remembering this sacrifice matters now more than ever.

Mom tested positive yesterday for Covid and is in isolation for 10 days. With #dementia she doesn't remember or understand the isolation so is going out of her room at what she thinks are meal times. It's hard to watch someone who used to be so competent not remember she is sick. #Alzheimers sucks.

I was feeling overwhelmed by all I had to do. So I made my to do list.

Now I AM totally overwhelmed!!

Two courses (one on the go and another to start in January) and two consulting contracts. The list goes on for two pages.

Bring on the dark chocolate.

It's book launch day for @joashpthomas.bsky.social. The Justice of Jesus is available and I can't encourage you enough to get it and read it! It changed me - forced me to consider the impact of colonization on theology and on my life as a Christian in the west. @brazospress.bsky.social thanks!

This afternoon, I finished reading "The Justice of Jesus" by Joash Thomas. If you could see how many sentences I highlighted in my copy of the book...

I'm reading "The Justice of Jesus" by @joashpthomas.bsky.social . It's a challenging read and he is opening my eyes to injustices I had not even considered before! Put it on your reading list this fall when it is published.

I have had a couple of very intense hours talking with my husband. Good discussions (nothing bad!) but just very emotionally intense. Sharing things that I would NEVER have shared with others.

I am SO grateful that he is willing to listen, hug, cry, share, and respond with genuine care and love.

Classes are back, students are logging into LMSs, profs are ramping up for #casemethod discussions. Give your students an advantage: require The Student Guide to the Case Method, available through #IveyPublishing. Guide them through issue identification, analysis, alternatives, & recommendations.

#AcademidSky if you teach using the #casemethod, give your students an advantage. Require The Student Guide to the Case Method, a comprehensive guide to critical thinking and report writing with the issue, analysis, alternatives, and recommendations process!

Anybody else having trouble with the new MacOS Sonoma 14.7.7 update? I can no longer use one of my own pics as the desktop wallpaper and screensaver. My camera keeps freezing on FaceTime calls. I have a Zoom call with clients tonight and I sure hope it works then!

#Apple I'm not impressed.

Hey #AcademicSky: A friend is editing a new Leadership text and would love to introduce the author to academic conferences in #Canada that are focused on leadership. Any recommendations?

@peggyblair.bsky.social The Bone-Finder was excellent! Fast moving plot with deepening characters and cultural understanding. Couldn’t put it down this weekend!

If you want good Canadian mysteries, Blair has written them!

While I am perplexed by the results of yesterday's election in Canada, I am grateful to live where we had a free & fair vote, the process is completely transparent & trustworthy, & the results (whether we like them or not) represent what the citizens of Canada meant when we marked our ballots.

An excellent explainer about the trade deficit - or subsidy - that the USA claims they hold over Canada. The $200bn subsidy is actually a trade surplus when energy (which the US needs and buys from us) is factored out!

This worries me. My research and publications around imago Dei - the fact that everyone is created in the image of God and thus deserves to be treated with individual care and respect - might be considered Woke!

Been thinking about the concept of imago Dei - being created in God's image.

If we really believe that, how should it shape the way we interact with others?

I'll start.

We should lead with a default of love - truly listen to what others are saying.

What are other ways?

I love being Canadian!

Several generations of my family have lived here. But I love that many fellow Cdns are new to our country. I love the varying colours of skin, the different foods and families, the way we can care for each other. I love that we support and pray for each other.
