Meet Ana Gledis! 📢
Following years of remarkable conservation work in Mozambique, Ana Gledis da Conceição is now pursuing a PhD in Biosciences at the University of Coimbra with a 4-year FCT Portugal scholarship. Her PhD is supervised by Dr René Bobe, Dr Joana Alves, and Dr Frederico Tátá.

🐒 Baboons plan their paths!

In Gorongosa, GPS-tracked female chacma baboons (Papio ursinus griseipes) follow routes that are smarter than random guesswork—showing signs of spatial memory and route planning.

Yesterday, we had an incredible workshop at ICArEHB, where researchers shared groundbreaking interdisciplinary work in primatology, palaeoanthropology, archaeology, Genetic and Data Science.

🌿 This week meet Rassina Farassi! She is a first-year PhD student supervised by Prof. Susana Carvalho, Prof. Helena Freitas, and Dr. João Coelho. Her PhD explores the selective pressures behind bipedalism and the relationship between highly terrestrial primates and carnivores in Gorongosa N Park.
