TL;DR Unity -> Godot transition: after 13 years in unity, it took me 4-6 weeks of getting adjusted, and now i’ll never go back. it has quirks, like other engines. there’s bugs. but it’s free, basically equally capable, and well reported issues get fixed quicker than in unity (sometimes within hours)

More #lowpoly #godot video game action! This time I have enemies flying in formation. If you destroy the leader, the rest will scatter and do their own thing which isn't ideal. But if you attack the rest first they stay as a cohesive block which is easier to deal with!

Decided to spice up the background stars a little. The cool thing about these is they're actually rendered ontop of everything additively, but I make them flicker in and out whether something is obscuring their centres.

Work marches ever on on my #lowpoly #godot project. It barely looks like anything has change since my last post but believe me, I've put far too much effort into the pettiest of things no one would ever notice but me! Also added pitch ladders, roll indicator, compass trackers and targetting brackets

Finally have something worth showing with my #lowpoly starfighter in #Godot. It is surprisingly fun to just fly around destroying these asteroids but there are 3000 of them in this scene and most of them break apart to reveal a smaller asteroid within, so it might take a while to get them all...

Decided it's best to go back and recreate the #lowpoly version of this starfighter in #blender. I'll revist a high poly version later. Going to try and work out some sort of launch sequence from a launch bay using this now.

Trying to flesh out the design of that #lowpoly starfighter I made in #blender semi-successfully I think. Still feels more like a sketch because I'm not deliberately driving the details as much as I would like but I'm also not super good at modelling so...
