Ten years ago on the day marriage equality was passed in Ireland the waiting time for trans healthcare was about 8 weeks. Today, ten years later that waiting time is now 13 years. Hooray for gay marriage or whatever.

LGBT+ politicians angry at the pride ban should look at how happy the rest of the community is that you’re not allowed to flog stickers this year and do some deep self reflection on whether your party still represents you, not whether pride does.

🟣 Community Update 🟣
Last week, we met with TD Cullinane to address harm, share truth + push for accountability. A respectful, powerful step.

We will be engaging more, going forward, to ensure that our community is represented.

Fighting & protesting is much harder on me now than it was 45- 50 years ago! But I will NOT give up. I also will not neglect self care.

I wrote about it years ago. I stood up at Dublin pride and poured my heart and soul and nothing happened. gcn.ie/trans-health...

In Ireland the waitlist for gender-affirming care through the HSE’s National Gender Service (the only pathway) can take up to four years. The psychiatric assessment is a degrading interrogation. You’ll be asked about your porn habits. Your sex life will be scrutinised.
‘It left me traumatised’: The barriers to accessing transgender healthcare in Ireland
The HSE has admitted that transgender healthcare is ‘limited’ and is ‘not meeting people’s full range of needs’.

We had our own meeting as Deputy Cullinane's local Community LGBT+ organisation and will have an update on our meeting with him soon! Great to see this clarification being public 👇

Many LGB folk in Ireland need to acknowledge that part of the reason they feel less safe now is they didn't heed warnings from trans people about what was happening to us and/or act up when they did. Too many people disengaged after marriage equality and that malaise has bitten us all in the arse.

A ban on trans people from GAA would be devastating. GAA is more than a sport, it's integral to Irish cultural identity, community & integration. It's already happened to trans teens who are locked out from 13 because of hormone rules/no healthcare so they can't play. Please don't let it happen!
