Feeling a bit depressed. It's five years to the day a mob of Confederate hostiles stormed the capitol. I had been relieved to see many of them jailed for assault, vandalism, etc. But then Donny pardoned them. I thought we learned our lesson about pardoning Confederates the first time. Guess not.

Goals for 2026
- Do some exercise every day, even if just a little.
- Keep working on my sleep difficulties.
- Publish an RPG book.
- Visit the library once a week.
- Pitch my China course to a college.
- Finish watching Story of Yanxi Palace.
- Work on my pile of unread books.

For some reason I'm getting more photos of old school audio stacks in my feed. Really takes me back to my dad's audio set up in the 1970's. Also makes me nostalgic for listening to music on my "stereo" instead of headphones all the time now.

I love how the viral posting of bootlegs of the 60 Minutes' CECOT piece is guaranteeing it will see a much larger audience that if it aired normally.

Attended No Kings in Glen Burnie, MD yesterday. Couple hundred there standing up for our rights, democracy, and decency.

I'm looking out at the snow here in Maryland and wondering if it's a good thing or a bad thing that it put a blanket on the anniversary of J6.

I'm loving the starter pack idea here, but I don't like to follow random strangers and a lot of the packs are too huge for me to go check everyone out individually. I appreciate when there are maybe 20 people listed. I'm likely to follow 80~90% of them in that case.

Okay, I deleted the Twitter app from my mobile. I'll still be checking in occasionally from the website for the few good people over there who haven't made the move.

I'm really pleasantly surprised at the whole community here of writers, artists, and book-lovers. I found a few on the Other Place, mostly artists I'm re-following here, but it's way better here. Also more cats.

I've decided to unfollow people over on Twitter as I find them here. It's mostly to save time reading, but also to nudge myself to make the change. I've been very encouraged by all the posts about art, books, and libraries. Also way fewer mocking hostiles.

Hello Bsky! I'm in the process of moving over from Twitter, trying to rediscover all the people I'm following there. At some point I may unfollow people there just so I'm not doubling my reading, but I hate to remove support from people I enjoy.
