Copy editor. Baby Boomer. I want to see what's next.
This sentence from a news release is perfectly grammatical, but it does not sound idiomatic: “Both were not injured during this incident.” We would be more likely to write: Neither was injured during this incident. That's one thing that copy editors do -- make prose more idiomatic. #copyediting

I wonder why this headline doesn’t say “Woman bites man.” Isn’t that what an attack with teeth is? #newspapers

I wrote online quizzes on usage and grammar for my former employers. They were fairly popular. Today I put together a short quiz in Microsoft Forms, using sentences from a quiz that I don't think I published. You can click the link to try it. This is just for fun. #quiz forms.office.com/r/YvrZwiNU4R

Another tip for anyone who writes or edits: Check every proper name -- person, place, organization, business, etc. -- to be sure you have rendered it accurately before you publish. Don't forget to look at the prepositions. #copyediting #writing #publishing

My first post on this platform is an old tip for anyone who writes or edits: If a piece of writing promises the reader a list of, say, 10 items or ideas, be sure to count them before you publish. #copyediting #writing #publishing
