still thinking of a post on the Friendship Industry and the misapprehension that we just need to go to more social events instead of build intimacy with the people we've probably already met. it said the key attributes to building friendships are Positivity, Consistency, and Vulnerability
I keep thinking about how Mark Zuckerberg says chatbots can serve as friends. Messaging a chatbot can be "easier" than trying to connect to new people and maintain existing friendships. But there are so many interesting people in the world and it's worth making the effort to build those bonds IRL.
