In the air. Takeoff was a little more than an hour late. I think they had to manually record passport information. Also, if your baggage is too heavy, they do not have a way to take payment for the overage. #mbj #jamaica #sangster

Got through MJB pretty easily. We were able do check-in online the night before and had our digital boarding passes. Not sure if that helped. It’s pretty warm in here. Dress comfortably if you’re passing through this airport.

West Jet has yet again screwed my family over. I got an email stating that my flight was leaving earlier tomorrow. When I called to get my seats assigned, they told me the plane had no more seats available. If I didn’t call, I would have been stranded at MBJ tomorrow.

Still on the resort. Being told my flight will be on Sunday. My cellular service seems to be back up through Flow. It’s strange that the staff is having trouble getting reception, but someone roaming from a Canadian phone can.

Still stranded by west jet. Flight just got cancelled. However, the MBJ might only be letting aid through, which is infinitely more important for the people of Jamaica.

Not exactly feeling at ease yet, but grateful to see Melissa exit the island. Resort still has us sheltering in place. We’re not completely in the clear yet.
Melissa’s movement has not followed the projections.

Still waiting for #hurricanemelissa to hit land. Unclear whether that has happened. Grateful for the organization of the resort who just finished serving lunch. They have beds and cribs in the hallway for the elderly and babies.
