Another thing I'm also realizing is how much I've been over-relying on video games for insp you can get elsewhere, often in a more grounded and meaningful way

My new account schtick isn't "VIDEO GAMES ARE EVIL!!!!!"
But I am just- so refreshed realizing the benefits of distancing myself from it as a regular hobby, and that ngl a lot of other people would probably benefit from it too

I've never really thought about it before, but probably my most unpleasant interactions on the internet were all video game-related
The angriest comments I've ever gotten were from me saying anything unflattering about a game, even if sandwiched between stuff I did like. That should not be normal

One thing I seriously wish is that more games had solid comic series of them (or even just ok ones, anything really)
I like Sonic and I unironically think the comics are a more interesting use of the characters. And the Sly Cooper promo comics are so good they really could've spawned a series

If video games were just "a thing to play", I probably would've (mostly) given up on them way earlier
The thing that prolonged my interest in them for so long was likely the art attached to them. Video games really do have the best character designs and fantasy worlds, no contest

Honestly part of why I never turned off others' reposts on the tl was sort of a fairness thing. Cuz obv I hope my own reposts get seen
But I already comb through people's accounts sometimes to see if they reposted anything cool I missed, so I guess it plays out about the same

I also wanna kick myself so cartoonishly hard for not buying more Archie Sonic when I could. I became a Sonic fan at JUST the right time for it as a kid, then fell off soon after
