As a Minnesotan, I am so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from people all over the globe. What’s happening here goes far beyond politics. This is now about defending democracy and upholding basic human rights.

Many people want to help and are asking what to do. I have suggestions.🧵

I was not worried about running out of yarn until I dealt with a cake that had completely dissolved. Now I’m playing 🧶🐓. Fortunately, I found a stashed mini skein that is close enough in color and weight. Here’s hoping!

It doesn’t matter what the White House says. We all know that Alex Pretti and Renee Good died on the right side of history. 🕯️🕯️

#minnesota #iceout
A colleague of Alex Pretti at the Minneapolis VA hospital vehemently rejected DHS' narrative that Pretti went to the area seeking to commit violence against federal law enforcement Saturday.

“Bullshit,” said Julia Grigoriev. “I would never believe that Alex would want to harm anybody.”
Alex Pretti identified as man fatally shot by federal officers in Minneapolis
Pretti, an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Health Care System, had no criminal record beyond parking tickets.

#knitting is resistance and Minnesota is resisting. Needle and Skein is a LYS in St. Louis Park, MN.

I don’t typically wish ill upon others, but I hope people who spit gum on the ground have their favorite stories turned into horrible adaptations for tv streaming.

I’ve had this Zaurball in my yarn stash for a while. I bought some black yarn and chose a pattern, undeterred by the color work knit flat. I am liking the overall look of the piece but I have had to give my dominant had a big pep talk about what it means to actually dominate.

Knitting is not a fast craft but it is so much faster than unknitting.

Is anyone else slightly obsessed with The Repair Shop? I could watch artisans work all day. The process is often just as beautiful as the finished product.

We’re under a winter weather advisory so I’m taking advantage of the day. I’m making cup cozies for my team as holiday gifts. They’ll be placed in packages with cocoa mix, teas, and k-cups. I have six more to make.

Jaimie Lomax is helping me with Christmas gifts for my staff this year. A cup cozy with assorted coffees and teas sounds nice.

We’re traveling next weekend so of course the most important question is, “What should I bring to knit”?

#SEMinnesota go check out Jake Johnson. We deserve better representation in congress.
While the people of southern Minnesota work hard to make ends meet, Washington politicians are shutting things down instead of doing their jobs.

I just wanted to steal a second of your time to mention that October 14th is Ada Lovelace Day. Martin Luther King Jr. was announced as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, and 300 Jewish hostages escaped a Nazi concentration camp after a prison uprising.
