You may call me outdated but seriously I think AI is a malignant tumour in higher education.

This is a big problem which has caused the marking task becomes far more difficult and time-consuming with the need to verify sources. Humans built AI without prudent thoughts on how AI can be ethically used.

‘Hallucinated’ cases are affecting lawyers’ careers – they need to be trained to use AI
It is vital that lawyers are taught how to use GenAI to avoid the risk of deciding questions of justice on fabricated case law.

The trade war is making shipping companies panic-restructure to avoid new US/China port fees.

To stop the loophole, we need to find the true owner. Time to bring in South Africa's "associated ship" test or toughen the UNCLOS "genuine link" standard

I also contributed an article in here back then!

Law is a subject involving debates and opinions. Most law textbooks written for non-law students attempt to pin down legal positions just like 1+1=2 and hence they turn the subject into something very dry.

It was good to be able to fly to Sydney to volunteer myself as an arbitrator for the International Maritime Arbitration Moot. It was particularly good to sit with the legendary Luke Nottage in the round between the Erasmus University and the NALSAR University of Law!

It was my honour to be invited to contribute a lecture on marine insurance law to students in the “Advanced Insurance Law” module in the LLM programme of the Faculty of Law, Rangsit University. This was my very first time in my 20+ odd years to speak or give lectures in Thai.

It appears that, when we read cases from the USA, we will be bound to come across names like the Genius Act and the One Big Beautiful Act. What other weird titles of the statutes will we see again in the future?

Currently, a territorial dispute is ongoing between Thailand and Cambodia, and Cambodia is threatening to refer the dispute to the International Court of Justice. However, as also reflected in Article 36(1) of the Statute of the ICJ, the jurisdiction is based on consent.

The whole bunch of cases that the general editors asked me to include in my chapter and to send them the revised draft by 7 June! 😫 I consume case laws for food.

I have been pretty free this week (waiting for students to submit their assignments by the end of the week). Suddenly, comments on my chapter came from the general editors of the practitioner's text I have been contributing to, with suggestions to include many cases. Just not the right timing!
