"Jungsu," he said again, pulling away further, out of reach. Jungsu finally looked at him, eyes watery and frail. Gunil's heart shattered. They both knew it would be redundant. He had tried to call the police the first time it happened, but nothing came of it. He tried again and again, but every time, they were both left in the dark about where the investigation had stopped. They didn’t even know if an investigation started in the first place. He eventually stopped trying, focusing his efforts on treating Jungsu the best he could. After disinfecting everything, Gunil gently placed gauze and bandages over the new injuries. Nothing was bleeding this time, but he always erred on the side of caution when it came to this. Once he was done with wrapping his wounds, Gunil pressed a kiss to Jungsu's temple. Jungsu hummed as he blinked his eyes open. He had closed them at some point, probably about to drift to sleep.
