If I were a betting man, I'd put money on MAGA doing something horrendous, dumb and dangerous on or around January 1st. Something more than just invading Venezuela. That, but also something domestic. Foreign enemy plus domestic enemies necessitates goverment purge/permanent takeover yada yada yada

I think it's absolutely necessary for Republicans to blink first, then cave on the shutdown showdown. They need to see what happens when Trump starts to panic about the Epstein files and viciously turns on them.

I think Trump wants to instigate a war with Venezuela and/or Columbia so he can invoke war powers.
When it turns to shit, and too few people want to volunteer to fight in that unjust war, in the jungles of South America, he and Pete Hegseth will reinstate the draft. What a waste it will all be.
