WIP animation for transitioning from idle to alert state. All hand animated. Damn, I'm good. (i havent done the other hand or the rest of the body yet).
Yes, development (and unfortunately, developer) are still alive. It's just really slow.

Development paused until Sept 4. Currently paused at: Security Officer Character Animations.

Unfortunately, I have developed the skill to make higher quality assets. Therefore, I'll need to make other models in similar quality, consuming even more of my non-existent schedule.

I understand it now. I've learned how to create shaders. Sky Shader with stars, basic clouds, day/night cycle, and weather blending.

Added Day/Night Cycle support (with automatic stars visibility) and weather blending to the Godot 4 Sky Shader. The VisualShader node setup is included in the video if you wish to recreate and use this for yourself. Enjoy.

Lost a week of terrain sculpting progress. This has taught me a valuable lesson. Do not use plugins that are in alpha for serious purposes.

Made a stylized 'point leaves' shader in Godot 4 for an unannounced project. This took a whole day to get right (considering I have little knowledge of GDShaders).

Poison Dataset is a studio founded by one man off the back of several cancelled projects (that h surely learnt something from).
Work is slow, development is only done between very stuffed schedule of classes, more classes, and other work.
I have stories to tell, and a will to let people hear them.

Made a UI background shader with @rodzlabs.bsky.social's Material Maker tool!

Exporting it in shader form might've been a horrible idea for performance though. I'll optimise it with pre-made noise textures and such tomorrow.

The vision has been established.
We're (by we I mean I) are gonna take a break from developing the current game, and switch gears into starting a new one. This does NOT mean it's cancelled!

I have claimed all the V-Bucks from the Battle Pass.
Development on (----------) will continue as usual now.

It has come to my attention that the Fortnite Season ends on November 2nd, and I still have not claimed all the VBucks.

Development will be halted until November 3rd

After many code rewrites (and hair loss), the crouch system is done. Highlights:
- Can now jump crouch / duck jump
- Landing from a jumpcrouch transitions from aircrouch to floorcrouch
- Falling off/jumping while crouched does not put you in aircrouch.

Found out the duck jump wasn't working, and decided that I'll rewrite the crouching system.

Three hours later, I'm still stuck on it.

How is this hard? Half Life did it in 1999! I might need to look into it's code.

Ever been stuck on a bug that no matter how you look at it, and how many print statements you use to analyse the situation, it still occurs and you have no idea why?

Yeah.

#000 (Freebie): No one design element matters more in a game than UI juice. Jank, shallow gameplay, poor graphics, whatever. If the mere act of clicking or pressing a button or tilting the stick is viscerally pleasing, most players will stick around. (This includes making movement feel good!)
