Cool thread examining teammate effects/interactions through an ecological dynamics lens! It is small-sided soccer games but the applications would be easy enough to translate to hockey.

A very low-event game from the Blue Jackets who were mostly dominated but got a goal from the guy who does all the scoring.
A different flavor than the rest of the season. Lots of slot packing defense so the "turtle" didn't quite feel the same.

They had a lot of trouble in their own zone, gave up some bad forecheck goals and were dominated in the even-strength non-5v5 minutes.

Apologies for the delay, NHL API isn't listing Mikael Pyyhtia as a player on CBJ roster :)
CBJ had trouble generating some of the most dangerous offense but were efficient when they did find chances. Lots of in-zone chances blocked.
VGK created a ton of rush offense.

A sleepy sort of game, CBJ went up early and more or less coasted. Buffalo found a lot of recovery chances and good powerplay danger but had trouble getting it on net. They scored off of a big d zone turnover though.
