Dungeness: An excellent day for sprites on the peninsula, with lots of Goldcrests, a Firecrest, also many thanks to the Observatory Team for sharing the Yellow-browed and Pallas's Warbler they trapped and ringed this morning. Another Pallas's in the lighthouse garden found by Sean this afternoon 😀

I was very pleased to find this Crimson Speckled as wandered along beside the railway at Dungeness this afternoon. @migrantmothuk.bsky.social My VC15 trap was as expected very poor.

A Stunning sunrise at the Dungeness fishing boats this morning.
Dungeness: A call from Colin alerted me that 20+ Crossbills had been seen in the Pines at the ARC, there have been plenty of flyovers this year but none have stuck, so I made my way there not expecting any to be present and was very pleasantly surprised on arrival.

Dungeness: I Had just got home from a morning sea watching when @dungenessowen.bsky.social phoned to say he had a brief view of a Yellow Brow type Warbler by Springfield Bridge, a couple or so minutes later I joined him, just as the bird revealed itself to be a Pallas's Warbler.

Dungeness: Out on my bike today around the reserve and Scotney complex. Highlights were my first Goosander of the year on Burrowes and a confiding Slavonian Grebe there. At Scotney my first Whooper Swans of the year 2,000+ Golden Plover and the local Little Owl.

Dungeness: A pale bird dropped into a Bramble beside me at the red and white gates, then morphed into a super leucistic Kestrel and alighted on a lamp post in the power station, only to be mobbed by a Magpie then have a close shave with an encounter with a Peregrine.

Streak is fairly common moth on the peninsula, I think I was the only trapper here not to have caught one, so I was delighted to find one in my VC15 trap this morning.

Dungeness: Stephen Message found a superb Pallas's Warbler in the Gully early afternoon and quickly alerted the locals, fortunately I was at home so was on site with Stephen a few minutes later. As usual it was very active and difficult to follow with the camera.
