Hey moots, I am currently researching for an FPGA devboard, but I have little experience. I did stuff on DE10 boards with Quartus II at uni (VHDL), but I am looking for an ideally FOSS environment. Looking into it, I found f4pga.org (Verilog) as a tool chain. Is it good? What do you work with?

Don’t worry, self-hosting is easy. You just have to buy a domain name, setup a reverse proxy, get a router (yours is shit), run DDNS on it, get a manageable switch to isolate your proxmox server from your home network, make sure every firmware is up to date and don’t forget the firewall. See, easy!
