I'll always do what I can to help local residents.

Recently, I highlighted unacceptable delays experienced by a constituent trying to renew their driving licence with DVLA.

I was pleased to hear action is being taken to improve their systems & will be following this up with Govt.👇

I highlighted in the Commons the concerns of my constituents unable to contact family & friends in Iran at this worrying time.

I also applauded those women in Iran who have been fighting bravely their freedom.

It's vital that they are part of building a new democracy in Iran.

The deal between BAE Systems & Norway not only safeguards local jobs, but secures cooperation between our countries

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is desperate & the Israeli Govt's decision to ban dozens of respected aid agencies from working there is an act of cruelty.

I want to see the ban lifted and the Rafah crossing opened, and called on the UK Govt Minister to help make that happen.
January 12, 2026 at 11:11 AM
Following the US air strikes in Venezuela and the capture of President Maduro, I spoke in the Commons about the importance of upholding international law.

I asked the Foreign Secretary about ensuring sovereignty is respected & international laws are upheld.

It was great to catch up with local posties as they prepared for another busy day.

10 million people have already been displaced in Sudan, more than half of them children.

I asked the @FCDOGovUK Minister what action can be taken to support them & their families.

Take these important steps:
1. Save the 105 number in your phone or write it down somewhere safe
2. Keep a torch & new batteries nearby
3. Charge your phone & any power packs
4. Have some blanket

Along with colleagues I've written to the UK Govt calling on them to ensure any Ukraine peace deal upholds the Geneva Convention & that special protections are afforded to children.

It's vital that the return of all Ukrainian children is an unconditional & immediate priority.

I met recently with James Moseley from Specsavers to discuss the importance of good eye care & ear health checks.

Free eye tests in Scotland check more than just your sight – they’ll check the health of your eyes & find any problems before they become more serious.
