Charles is damn right! Australia is to vaping policy as USSR was to economic policy. Just compare AU with NZ where smoking rates falling twice as fast & three times as fast among disadvantaged!
I wouldn't tout Australia's progress if I were you.
I know the US data best: The first graph (top left) shows the US avg. decline only up to 2022. The US rate of smoking decline is now 9% per year.
And I'm pretty sure why that is. It's called product substitution.
