I have no idea who this man is. I have been trying to work on my portrait skills by working through a book called "Lessons in Masterful Portrait Drawing". Its not that I have suddenly developed a desire to be a portraitist. I really don't want to specialize in such a thing. However, I do realize the usefulness of being able to accurately render a likeness.

I've been trying to work on my portrait sketching skills again. Going through a book I have and trying my hand at the sketches in it. This was the first one I tried out of the book. I got close. But I still need to work on it.

Still working on sketching practice. I think I will probably always be working on that. I'm also working on a few paintings. I can't wait to finish and post them. Its nice to see that even big cat mamas give their children spit-baths. Sometimes I really appreciate Microsoft for the screen backgrounds they give me. And this one is Frogger! Frogger is NOT from Microsoft.

Its Spring! And I am starting to push myself to get outside and play in the yard. Clearing some small areas of a couple of gardens and planting some new plants in some pots. I will probably keep most of my gardening this year to pots. I need to start slow and build up my energy. And I am going to be a grandmother!

As I am getting more serious about the upcoming time when my art shall become my work, I have also come to realize my site needed to be redesigned to something more modern, more streamlined. It too a mild crash in my learning process, but I now have the beginnings of what it is to become. I am currently working on properly scanning my art.

Its been quite a while since I have posted. Last year was rough. I was diagnosed with stage 3B cancer and spent months going through treatment. I am happy to say that the treatment was successful and the last 3 scans/tests have shown me to be cancer free! But, it took a lot out of me. I didn't do a lot of art during this time and I am still working on getting my health back.
