I’m mostly a photographer but I dabble in mixed media, alternative photo techniques, and whatever side quest comes along. I also was a forensic chemist half a lifetime ago. Any photos I post (other than reposts) are my own and copyright Elizabeth King.
So in these days of avian influenza possibilities, when we recently had migratory birds passing through our area (and have plenty of local wild birds as well), wouldn't logical people think that loose chickens might be an issue? Our county's public health office didn't seem to care.

Is it just me or has anyone else been getting far more spam calls lately? I can't restrict my phone to only those in my contacts (unfortunately). But I've been getting multiple calls/day where I used to get maybe 2 or 3 a month. This started in June. Did the FTC say they were giving spam a pass?

I "volunteered" to talk about doing multiple exposures in camera for my club in June. So I was playing around a bit lately. This is a double exp. of the same plant with the focus and camera position slightly moved.

In the creative photography class I'm taking this year, March was all about water. So here's a flower underwater with some cream added. Pentax K-1, Lensbaby Velvet 56.

Since it's Valentine's Day, I figured I'd put up a couple of older photos that fit the day. The bowl of conversation hearts was shot on B&W film, printed by hand, and then hand colored. The roses are on color film. Both were shot with a Pentax 645N.

From this fall.. We had much less rain than usual this summer and fall, so Meadow Run was very low. It was a great chance to see some rocks that are usually under water. #photography #ohiopylestatepark #rocksandwater

So here's an image I made a few years ago. It's a Mordançage print - it's on silver gelatin paper (darkroom process) and then has been chemically altered to remove some of the emulsion. That's what gives the brushed look around the iris. #darkroom #photography #mordançage
