Dorchester native and Boston Latin School graduate Ayo Edebiri comes home!
Mayor Wu @mayorwu.boston.gov declared it Ayo Edebiri Day and introduced her to the baby who was obviously impressed. Kudos to the person who asked me to take the "goofy" group shot. Gotta love those theater kids!

Opening Day Hoopla!
As many of you know, I am now @mayorwu.boston.gov's baby photographer and at this point I've totally blended into the background. In fact, she usually just falls asleep. Not sure how long it will last. Go Sox!

What is water but rain but cloud but river but ocean but ice but tear.
-Danielle Legros Georges, Boston's 2nd Poet Laureate who passed on February 11th.
I didn't know her personally but I've heard her read and she signed a book for us. May she rest in peace.

Cure for the winter blues. I felt better just watching them.

Last night, volunteers counted our homeless residents and offered assistance to those on the street during the 45th Annual City of Boston Homeless Census. It's tough, caring work that goes on mostly without the cameras. Thanks to everyone for allowing us to be present.

Mom's framed "Four Freedoms" lay shattered. It felt like a bad omen. Then we showed up at the "Power of the People" exhibit at the MFA and there they were, in all their glory. Feels like faith has been restored, for now.

Please join me in wishing my parents the happiest of anniversaries! They tied the knot in the Berkshires 60 years ago tonight. My sources tell me it was quite the party. Happy anniversary you two! Happy New Year everybody!

Santa made my day comparing bellies with @mayorwu.boston.gov at the 31st Annual Menino Toy Drive at St. Peter's. Lots of kids and families left happy today! Congratulations to the Menino family and all the volunteers for putting on such a great event.

Happy Boston Bruins Centennial Day! It's been 100 years since they first beat Montreal. Cool to see Captain Brad Marchand along with Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Willie O'Ree and other Bruins greats gathered to celebrate the new bear statue outside the TD Garden. Go B's! @mayorwu.boston.gov

The city was aglow last night. It was so pretty I stopped for a picture as a MBTA Commuter Rail train passed under the West Fourth Street Bridge in South Boston.
