I am not exactly a fan of Finkelstein, but he makes an excellent point here. Pay also special attention to what he says about checks and balances: a point straight out of Zinn's People's History of the US.

Maybe you are in the spectrum and you get overexcited ― I would get overexcited if I had just bought a public office in US. Then maybe you could raise your left fist in defiance; maybe you would do finger pistols or make some other inappropriate sort of gesture. But then, you wouldn't be a fascist.

Well, I know several people within the autistic spectrum myself and most of them are not fascists. Just happens.

Great news! Gene Searchinger's legendary Human Language Series is now on Youtube. The quality seems better than the original VHS (which I introduced a public showing of back in September 2005 here in Nicosia). It comes with a transcript.
