As old systems crumble, therapists can play a vital role as midwives of the change, facilitating the birth (or rebirth) of something new or previously hidden.

Through the Door is a workshop for therapeutic practitioners on facing the climate and related crises:

Today as I stepped into the #woods, what struck me was the vibrancy of the moss, so green it almost seemed to glow, so alive so vibrant. Even when the world feels heavy and grey, there is #joy to be found if we remember to look.

Two thirds of all freshwater species are supported by ponds, but the number of ponds in the UK plummeted in the 20th century. So garden ponds are vital for biodiversity - and creating one could help frogs, toads, dragonflies, bats, hedgehogs, swifts…

These 2 #trees 💚 Standing together in the middle of a field, and they always make me smile. They remind me a little of an old married couple. Quite different #characters, yet always together side by side they grow, and you just know they wouldn't be the same if they didn't have each other. #nature

And this one is by me as I warm up my toes after a morning in the woods. Purrrfect.

This mornings office.

In truth it's a little chilly and drippy… but still it feels so good…

How does nature ask us to look at things differently?

What if healing wasn’t linear, but seasonal?
What if rest was as legitimate as growth?
What if your body already knew the way?

#Jellyears on a frosty #January morning.

A reminder to #listen, perhaps.
These words have been present with me this week:

“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”

We often think of uncertainty as something to overcome - but what if it’s also what makes growth possible?

In existential psychotherapy, uncertainty is the space where freedom and creativity live.

"Perhaps the most striking findings is that the British public vastly overestimates the cost getting to net zero by almost 14,000%, fueling scepticism & a reluctance to pay. On average, they estimate it will need 28% of GDP by 2050, compared to @thecccuk.bsky.social forecast of just 0.2%"

One in three mouthfuls of our food are due to the hard work of pollinating insects, including bumblebees. But insect populations are crashing. Help them by growing nectar-rich plants that flower in autumn, winter and early spring.

I nearly just stepped over this leaf like so many others on the ground at this time of year. Not sure why it caught my eye, perhaps because it was all alone… But once you look closely there is so much to see that is beautiful here.

Autumnal vibes. We call this tree Steve—named after the lovely book Our Tree Named Steve. Giving names helps build connections; now, every time we visit the woods, my girls want to check in on all the trees they've named.
