Just finished @jeffvandezande.bsky.social's excellent book The Dance of Rotten Sticks, and it was incredible!! I'm going to post a longer review here and on Instagram once I gather my thoughts, but I had to come gush over it a little bit. If you guys haven't read it yet, you absolutely should. 🩸📚💙

Hey so I'm a dingus and I realized last night that my StoryGraph was set on "only people I'm following can friend me" 😅 I've rectified this, so let's be friends!

Just started reading The Dance of Rotten Sticks by @jeffvandezande.bsky.social, and it's so good, guys. I'm only about 15% into it so far but it's already getting spooky and I'm so excited to keep reading!! I do want to pick Isaac up and deposit him in front of a physical therapist, however 😂

Just finished Home Before Dark and the ending was Wild. Definitely not where I thought it was heading. I liked How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix a bit more, but Home Before Dark was a solid four stars. Excited to read more Riley Sager in the future! 🩸📚💙

Home Before Dark is really good at ending every chapter in a way that is both incredibly scary and also makes me go "yeah, I could read one more". Good for me but bad for my sleep schedule lol 🩸📚💙

Home Before Dark is very easy to get sucked in to. According to StoryGraph (obligatory StoryGraph plug here, my profile is in my linktree if anyone wants to be friends), I'm 60% done with it and I am desperate to uncover the secrets of Baneberry Hall. 🩸📚💙

I'm not very far into it yet, but so far I think Home Before Dark would make a great double feature with How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix. Loving the way HBD cuts between the father's book and the main character's pov. That mixed media vibe is something I really enjoy. 💙📚🩸

Finished The Pallbearer's Club last night. Incredible. The ending made me cry; I loved it. Have to take a break from Tremblay so I can feel my feelings, so I'm on to Home Before Dark by Riley Sager. I'm being good and working through my stack of library books before I start anything else 😅 💙📚🩸

Just got a copy of My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones, and I'm so exited to read it that I'm debating letting it skip to the top of my tbr once I finish The Pallbearer's Club even though I have library books to read first. 💙📚🩸

I'm about 2/3rds done with The Pallbearer's Club now, and it's both incredible and diabolical. Somehow Tremblay can even make furniture scary. Iykyk 👀 So excited to see how it ends. 🩸📚💙

Started The Pallbearer's Club last night and oh boy, Mr. Tremblay sure knows how to suck me into a book and fill me with dread about how it will end at the same time. 🩸📚💙

Just finished Universal Harvester and it was wild! Very spooky and atmospheric, but also a deep look at the way our world is constantly changing and the effects of grief. Not for everyone, but I loved it! 💙📚🩸

Just finished part 1 of Universal Harvester and holy shit. Can't wait for the rest.

I was today years old when I found out that John Darnielle the writer is also John Darnielle the lead singer of the Mountain Goats. The vibes absolutely check out.

Just started Universal Harvester by John Darnielle, and already I can tell it's going to be so deeply my shit. I've been on a Paul Tremblay kick (I read A Head Full of Ghosts and Horror Movie last week and loved both, and have a few more of his books on my list) but variety is the spice of life!
