I'm really sorry, but we just need to stop doing this. Your wood-burning hygge leads directly to people's deaths - other people's and perhaps your own.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Oh dear. The outpouring of prejudice and nonsense in response to this thread makes my point all too well. By all means critique Small Modular Reactors, but please at least read about them first. If only on Wikipedia. The correct sequence is information > opinion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_m...

The perfect soft boiled egg. Sous vide has been disappointing indeed...
I wonder if a simpler algorithm could be sous-vide, then a relatively short 100 degrees cooking, maybe alternating a few times with 30 degrees but fewer than 15 switches.
Periodic cooking of eggs - Communications Engineering
Emilia Di Lorenzo and colleagues propose an approach to address the energy transport problem of cooking the albumen and yolk of a boiled egg at their optimal temperatures without separation. By altern...

Unlike Big Tech, Proton will not comply with subpoenas from the incoming Trump administration (just like we refused all subpoenas from the Biden administration), as it would be illegal under Article 271 of the Swiss criminal code.
