I never thought I would cry at a Dream Theater show but, 3 weeks after my father passed away, the last 2 verses of A Change of Seasons really hit hard last night as they closed out their show at the Nassau Colisuem in NY.

I wish more things like this were done via raffle so regular people have a chance at one instead of these just ending up in some rich person's home. I know there may be tax reasons, etc but it seems wrong that the paintings from a public television show get privatized in this manner.
Thirty paintings created by the bushy-haired, soft-spoken Bob Ross will soon be up for auction to defray the costs of programming for small and rural public television stations suffering under cuts in federal funding. https://to.pbs.org/4nEQMrw
Bob Ross paintings to be auctioned to support public TV stations after federal funding cuts
All profits will help public TV stations with licensing fees for popular programs that include "The Best of Joy of Painting" and "America's Test Kitchen."

This is such amazing news. Kudos to @wnyc.org for bringing these programs to more listeners while also helping these stations.
My employer New York Public Radio just announced that it is offering @onthemedia.bsky.social, @radiolab.bsky.social, and other programs to at-risk public radio stations for free! More info: current.org/2025/09/wnyc...

I have seen a LOT of concerts in my life, and have seen Oasis a lot of times in the past (they've always been one of my favorite bands) but ##oasislive25 last night at MetLife Stadium may have been the best concert I've ever been to in my life. Truly biblical.

How Trump’s cuts to NPR funding will hurt WFUV—Fordham University’s storied public radio station
Working at WFUV’s student-run newsroom has been formative for both of us, which has made these recent cuts from Congress especially painful.

Heartbreaking news....
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting said Friday that it would shut down next year, effectively ending its half-century role as a backer of NPR, PBS, and local radio and TV stations across the U.S.
Corporation for Public Broadcasting Will Shut Down
The company is among the first casualties of a vote to strip roughly $500 million in federal funding from NPR, PBS and local stations across the country.

I used to go through all these listing growing up. NYC was vibrant. Sadly, many of the venues listed on them have no closed and become luxury apartments. Gentrication destroyed the NYC music scene.
