How it started … and how it ended.
A day of two halves; a freezing, foggy start to the day, lingering through midday. This aft, the skies cleared and the golden light shone through the frost, clinging to every surface. A beautiful, beautiful day. -9 to -5.

Daily photo time. #AmWriting on bogs, death, #photography, and preservation (current MFA.)

I often visit same spots/scenes in different seasons. Am researching the scientific practice of #rephotography, in which specific landscape is documented over time to observe changes like #glacier retreat.

A very gnarly birch gradually making its way into the wood pile just now. A 200 year old tree which toppled in storm Gerrit at end of last year, had clearly lived a life of twisting and tensing against the elements. Long established woodland #badenoch

I haven’t put one of these up for a while.
What a glorious day! The sun shone pretty well all day, but never got over the yardarm and the temperature didn’t get above freezing …

Autumn light bathing one of the rowans this morning - unusual for it to get to this time of the year with most of its berries in tact, though the thrushes have started to arrive in the last few days #pollcreagan #badenoch #rowan #redberries #autumn
