Over the past few months I’ve been traveling all across the state visiting with Iowans. But if I haven’t met you yet, here’s my story—and why I stepped up to run for Secretary of State
We don’t need DC politicians deciding how our elections are run. Iowans deserve a Secretary of State who stands up to these threats, and Paul Pate is refusing to do that.

Had a great time up in Iowa Falls this past weekend, chatting with folks at the Hardin County Democratic Party’s chili lunch event!

It was so nice to be back home in Scott County and take part in the Caucus last night! This was true democracy in action, and it was great to get a chance to talk with so many friends and neighbors.

It was great to be in Johnson County last night to help kick off Sue Dvorsky’s campaign for County Supervisor! I’m honored to have Sue and Bob’s backing in my race for Secretary of State, and I’m thrilled to support Sue in her campaign.

So sad to see yet another killing in Minnesota. This is unacceptable.

In the aftermath of an event like this, the focus should be on accountability and protecting people’s rights.

Instead, the DOJ is trying to use this moment to pressure Minnesota for access to voter data. That’s wrong.

Thanks everyone for all the support in 2025! Looking forward to building on this momentum from now until Election Day. If you haven’t yet, join Team Peterman today!

Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Because of his leadership and sacrifice, America has made real progress toward equal access to the ballot box. But the right to vote is not self-executing—it’s something we must continue to protect and defend each and every day.

Thank you to the Grundy County Democrats for having me out to their soup dinner last night, and thank you to everyone who braved the cold!

It was great to be in Central Iowa last week, talking with folks in Urbandale and Des Moines. Everywhere I go, I’m hearing from people who are frustrated with the direction of our state—and so they’ve decided to step up, get involved, help make a difference

Our race is shaping up to be extremely competitive this year, and this article highlights exactly why electing a Secretary of State with integrity matters so much.

I’m extremely proud of the grassroots support we received from folks all across the state last year. Iowans are ready for a new generation of leadership, and this record-breaking support shows there has never been a better opportunity to take back the Secretary of State’s office.

Another huge win here in Iowa! Congratulations to Renee Hardman on a 27 point overperformance! Iowans have consistently shown all year that we’re ready for new leadership.
BREAKING: Renee Hardman just won her election to Iowa’s SD-16, blocking Republicans from restoring a supermajority in the chamber!

She’s also making history as the first Black woman to win a seat in the state Senate, and is ready to be a strong voice for the people.

I’ve been traveling all over Iowa this year talking with voters—but I haven’t been everywhere yet!

My goal is to reach every county next year and fill in the map. Our big end of year deadline is tomorrow. Can you chip in to help us reach that goal?

It was a beautiful morning for a canvass launch! If you live in SD-16 (West Des Moines, Windsor Heights, or Clive in Polk County), make sure to get out and vote for Renee Hardman by December 30th! You can go to votepolk.com to find out more.

I agree with Jeff Kaufmann here. Paul Pate is vulnerable, and we do have a great opportunity next year. If you want to help us prove him right, consider pitching in to our campaign before our end of year deadline.

Today we remember the attack on Pearl Harbor, the brave sailors we lost that day, and the generation that answered the call in the days that followed. Their courage shaped the country we live in. Let’s honor their service by striving to be a nation worthy of their sacrifice.

Iowa’s getting hit with a lot of snow today, so first things first: don’t go out unless it’s safe.

But when you can, I hope you’ll support our small businesses across the state. Yesterday in downtown Davenport, I was reminded how many folks are working hard and investing in our communities.
