The Greens vote collapsed because Steven Miles did very well with the 18–34 y.o's, especially in the inner city. He took a slice of the Green vote and brought it over to #Labor. This is why the Greens went backwards in the inner city, falling well short in all their targets & losing South Brisbane.

DemosAU’s monthly polling in Jan 2024 showed Labor’s primary vote for men aged 18–34 sat at 31%. By the end of the campaign this had risen to 39%. Could those TikToks of Steven Miles bench pressing and hanging out with influencers have bumped up his vote? There could be some truth to that.

I've written an analysis piece on voting trends from the Queensland election. It answers questions on why the Greens voted collapsed, which surprising demographic voted for Steven Miles, and if there's a way back for Labor in regional QLD. #Auspol demosau.com/news/queensl...

Great to be at the dual launch of the “Everald” burger, a new menu item at the Royal on the Park Brisbane and the latest book from Everald Compton, Waling with The Man.
