Nocturnal Migration looks to have bumped up a notch last night over North Baddesley, with increase in Redwing and Song Thrush numbers. Moorhen a strangely regular occurrence overnight.

Hard work around Portland, but a few nice pics. The most ridiculously confiding Raven I will ever encounter! and some decent birds at Lodmoor on the way home.
A walk around Portland. Pleased with my photos despite the distance/heavy crops and high ISO. I should perhaps keep the ISO high on cloudy days in future, despite the longer post processing time needed for the denoising.

A walk around Portland. Pleased with my photos despite the distance/heavy crops and high ISO. I should perhaps keep the ISO high on cloudy days in future, despite the longer post processing time needed for the denoising.

1 Raspberry Pi, a Zoom H1 and an Audiomoth, and 3 days of cursing.
But I now have a permanent Bird call monitor / bat detector running.
Pretty sure the Sp.Fly is false. It did pick up a bone fide Firecrest though.
Looks like a Noctule slipped past with the Pipistrelle (20khz).

Very little in the moth trap this morning, and the home-made battery LEDs don't seem to be making it until the morning, so no chance of going a little further afield just yet.

Keyhaven and Pennington Marshes this morning. Picked out a Bar-tailed Godwit amongst Black-tailed Godwits. Plenty of Mediterranean Gulls flying East, at least 100. Plus an Osprey overhead flying North with fish. Also, 3 Sanderling.
