I love that Franz Joseph I had two super specific buttons on his table: Adjutant and Kammerdiener.

His job was to sit at this table the whole day, everyday, and read, apparently 🤷‍♂️

«In daily use, MiniDisc functioned less like an optical disc and more like a compact digital workspace. Discs were reused without hesitation, overwritten repeatedly, and reorganized as listening habits changed. The physical interaction […]

I regularly check Melania‘s rating on IMDB for a little treat of Schadenfreude. Expecting a boss-level intervention any day now 🤷‍♂️

I’m very happy with my new Onyx Boox Go 7, a b/w e-reader I got for myself.

I can just start it, drop some ebooks onto it, and be on the go. So simple, just what a good tool should be.

Optionally, I could create a Boox account for easier syncing or log […]

“It is part of the job of police to be identifiable, because of the profound #authority bestowed upon them. The ability to use force is a weighty responsibility, requiring high standards of conduct, and it can and should be revoked when abused. We are supposed to know who they are, because that […]

What’s weird to me is why they’d use a 2004 OS in a 2011 film, but if you look at the window chrome and icon quality it becomes quite clear why, doesn’t it 😅

A bonus screenshot for @jonmsterling showing off Panther’s beautiful Mac OS X drawers.

We rewatched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo yesterday and the thing that stood out to me the most was what a beautiful homage it is to Mac OS X Panther.

I know … but that’s me 🤓 What can’t be seen in the screenshots are the many beautiful interactions […]

Here I am reading up on the OpenDocument format. I detest where Apple are heading but I just love Numbers spreadsheets; they let me express thoughts so well and nothing else compares. (Or does it?)

Not realistically going to build an alternative, but stretching out some feelers because what […]

Initial Qobuz observations:
• It works well
• It’s a Webview-UI and •still• it works much better than the crappy iTunes / Apple Music UI
• The app icon is boring, but Apple Music’s has turned ugly

Will use it for a couple of weeks now to see how it feels …

Doing this 1000pc puzzle with my kid primarily reflects back to me what a terrible overthinker I am. So many situations where I just had to •try• to fit the piece and it worked but it took me an eternity because I came up with all the reasons it •wouldn't• fit first 🤷
