Do we ever "separate the art from the artist" when the art is good?
I can't imagine reading "wow what a hauntingly beautiful tale of the horrors of brotherhood in the face of industrialised war - but lets separate the art from the artist and ignore the impact of war upon the human psyche."

I don't follow like... state level American politics very frequently, but the clips I'm seeing of Zohran Mamdani show possibly the most authentic love and knowledge of a city and its community that I've ever seen in a politician - and so many have tried.

My Nightmare Before Christmas theory is that the Halloween Town parade is an act of ritual magic that empowers the fun, wonder and spookiness of the Halloween season. Balmy nights, fog in the right parts of the world, and plentiful availability of treats and scary stories in good fun.
