Merry Christmas everyone! I threw together a small picture of the two main characters of TGMAM wishing you well. Eventually I'll try to get a more accurate visual of them, but until then, enjoy the good boys the cleanest they've been in a while (they live on a mountain, dirt and twigs everywhere)

Because I prefer to come up with my own lore when writing. My werewolves priorities differ to what people might expect. Instead of worrying about who they might hurt, Grey, the MC of the series, is upset he cant wear pants or clothes. Not that the other wolf, Malik, really minds.

Plotting out my next book. Unlike the two before it, where the characters had places to go or things to do with a clear objective, this one thrusts an entire group into a situation they werent prepared for without a clear way forward. Its different and I want my writing to carry the slow bits

Me, finished the draft for my second book: now i can relax, read a backlog of books, and start editing after writing fatigue wears off.
My brain: now fix and update the lore, draft up book 3s plot, come up with more mini stories you want to do, start writing book 3 while editing book 2, no rest!

I used to write down characters like a list of features that piled together into a person. Thankfully, I found Heroforge years ago and have been making visual representations of them ever since. Is it perfect? No, there's always room for improvement, but it's so much nicer when I can see them.

Writing down and cementing lore for my books is both fun and infuriating. I really enjoy making original lore for a well known thing, but then I forget to write down everything I think of. It's a real "how did I forget that?!" moment. It happens way too often for how much I like to talk about it...

Breaking up my attention by having multiple projects going at once is a double edged sword. Got lore to write, yarn to crochet, games to play, a cat that wants to be loved on, and its that time of year for baking.

Question for anyone that comes across this. What are some clichés for horror creatures or people in those stories that drive you up the wall? My biggest one is when people act like they've never heard of what theyre dealing with. Zombie scenarios are big culprits of this. Head shots people!

One of my favorite things to do while writing is taking all the lore and whatnot on a creature and throwing it in a bin. I dont want to rehash the same things, I want to come up with something new to make it more fun for readers that might've already read about them before.

Werewolves are a mixed bag of strange and fascinating ideas. Sometimes, they hit all the right buttons to become an enjoyable read or watch, while other times you question what their plan was from the start or they don't show enough of the wolves to really entertain us.

So about my little writing project. Its about werewolves! With all kinds of people smack dab in the middle of a train wreck of a situation where nothing comes easy (but theres no fun for a story without a little conflict)

So now I found myself in a strange position with my new writing adventure. For the first time in a long time I've fallen in love with my characters. Grey and Malik are the goodess boys.

To start, I've been writing for years, I've never published anything because I have a bad habit of not thinking I'm good enough, then finding a shiny object and abandoning the project all together. I'm sure it's more relatable than it should be. Definitely not a habit easy to break.
