A youth football team and its coach out of Middletown were suspended for the rest of the season days after the coach reported racist taunts at his players last month.

Cody Balmer of Penbrook admitted to throwing two molotov cocktails at the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg while Pa. Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family slept inside. Balmer was sentenced Balmer to 25-50 years in prison and ordered him to pay $100,000 in restitution after Balmer pleaded guilty.

Students in the Steelton-Highspire School District will not return to classes until Oct. 14.

The district opted to cancel in-person classes on Wednesday after a 26-year-old man was killed and his brother was injured in a shooting around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
