I sometimes am shocked to hear that not everyone knows about the GRO’s own birth and death indexes and cheaper digital certificate copies for England and Wales. Here’s some more detail. Don’t pay more than you need to!

I recently found unmarked family grave plots thanks to the local council digitising the plot refs. The LA owns them so we are unable to put a permanent headstone up but this is a great way to celebrate and acknowledge my great grandmother on her 100yr death anniversary!
