I’ve been reviewing quite a few papers lately, and one thing that makes me pause is seeing more than 2–3 works by the same author in the bibliography. A solid literature review should reflect the breadth of scholarship on the topic—not just the work of a select few.

This year I had to cancel my participation in the ECPR Joint Sessions #ecprjs25 due to the extremely high registration fees — even though it's being held on the very campus where I regularly teach. I'm sorry, but I struggle to understand why academic engagement must come at such a high cost.
