It is super hard to grow a user playlist on Apple Music. Today I got a message that one more person added the playlist “Modular Synthesizers in Space”.
This brings it to 61 people!
It is a very genre specific playlist in Dolby Atmos.
Let’s bring it to 100 people!

The Luis Buñuel Film Institute commissioned me to create a quadraphonic sound installation for this exhibit at the Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago.

The experience is a combination of Buchla and music concrète based on the archives of Buñuel films and interviews

The banjo emerged not from Africa, but from the break—the violent crossings of the Atlantic slave trade. This essay listens to its hum and buzz, reframing the banjo as a diasporic technology of memory and proposing new metadata to reflect its sonic intelligence

Working out arrangements on a small Buchla 200e system. There’s plenty of room for things to go horribly wrong when I play this out next week :)

This is going to be an interesting Buchla project.

'What Did the Blackbird Say to the Crow' is finally here! 20 years of living went into this one, and I'm very proud of it. So glad Justin Robinson could join me, and that we got to showcase where it all began: North Carolina.
