Web dev, politics. Asperger's, Subarus, cats. Married. Returned to Oklahoma after living in Oregon for 15 years; not particularly happy about it.
My rheumatologist's office is closed tomorrow so they canceled my appt. I've been trying to get in for the last three months. Really needed that appt. Serenity.

Pretty upsetting it takes such a clear case of murder to get the admin to change their tune.

Prog rock good for brain. So many time signature changes.

At the moment I am feeling very centrist and non-partisan. A mainline liberal. I think anarchism still guides my critique as hierarchies need to continually justify themselves and aren't just emergent, but guided by interests counter to the collective good. Esp. in the era of mass politics.

The more years I spend in software the more I think of it as an artisanal craft with engineering principles. Think hard and long, code little. It develops pride in your work, gives you a pathway for mentorship, and rewards deep knowledge and firm rules. Companies aren't as eager to pay for it now.

So I was diagnosed with SLE and APS both of which primarily affect women. I am not a woman and have never had the experience that I read about on the r/lupus subreddit. I've never had a doctor dismiss my experience or speculate on me exaggerating. I've had to make a fuss but I get a response.

This is why I am frustrated with ground news. That headline doesn't reflect what Obama said nor what the Independent reported

I don't understand why there is another round of DHS funding up in Congress. They just got a massive increase last year. Is it just part of the continuing resolution?

I wish I could stop with the typos. I'm blind to them when typing on my phone.

Analyzing the code quality across several repos with LLM driven feature implementation and it's pretty terrible. I used another LLM to apply principles of elegant code and it rates the implementation a C-. Funny it wasn't already shipped. The trade offs here have me worried.

Woke up in a terrible mood. And very nauseous.

I generally find Tulsa a sad and depressing city and I don't want to be here any longer than necessary. That feeling is rocksteady, was the reason I left and the reason I'll leave again, family is the only thing keeping me here.

I think the gun ownership impulse is more about the hypocrisy and to do something with the paranoia and anger. Something active, something defensive, a sort of solidarity. It's a language that my neighbors understand and my family.

I am disinclined to contact my federal delegation. One, they don't care since I am not a registered Republican. Two I don't want to have my information taken. I don't trust those fuckers. I have contacted my state rep previously. She is a Dem and it was about a specific piece of legislation.

I would had watched the Super Bowl if the Broncos had won.

Ok so instead of a firearm I think I'll do a go bag for escaping a societal collapse. And some stop bleeding class for immediate first aid.

Our neighborhood street is pretty passable thanks to traffic. We'll get some ice over the next week from any melting during the day. This is where the humidity works against us. We measured 7" in our backyard.

My tax return was mixed. Owed state. But modest federal. I guess that's optimal but not what I was expecting. We have to set extra withholdings and I intentionally withheld more than needed, but nope still underpaid. Not mad, just I had more understanding than I do.

Our stray, Baby, a salt and pepper shorthair with blue eyes has been surprisingly chill being cooped up in a room. Not sure on her last vet visit, but might take her to get updated vaccinations. Our other cats seem to tolerate her. Don't know if this means she's moving in.

A little further into my income tax rate, from 11.4% to 11.3%. I would describe my reaction as "underwhelmed."

At some point you are obligated to disobey.

My frets about guns aren't about fighting the state, but defending myself from neighbors. Vigilante right wingers going door to door. I've never been interested in owning a weapon, but now I am worried I need to have one and learn to use it. Also first aid. In Oklahoma I read nonconformist.

NYT has video of stuck cars in the snow and I am paying attention to the fact that the people helping don't have gloves hats and boots. Not making a point here other than there's no muscle memory for this kind of weather. At least people out there helping.
