This totally makes sense now, why I’ve always felt chat gpt text is so off.. it’s empty because it comes from nothing.. it is a mirage in the desert, the closer you get the more desolate it becomes…
More prosaically, as someone pointed out to me recently: LLMs are *always* hallucinating. its just that sometimes their hallucinations appear to map our experienced reality. But the map is never *of* our reality, just *like* it. So the words don’t describe it. 4/4

Generative AI is for people who don’t want to create art, they want to have created art. They want the kudos, the ego, the credit, without doing any of the work. They’re not interesting the art, they’re interested in being seen as an artist. It’s narcissism and ego, and nothing more.
