Thomar Boutique Hotel's very reasonably priced and has more than you could ask for if you're staying in Tomar.

My review covers all the reasons you should stay here but just admire that view. If that's not enough, give this a read! #portugal #travel

Thomar Boutique Hotel is an excellent place to stay if you're spending a night in Tomar. It has everything you need, plus a lounge with great views of Tomar.

It’s so disgusting how hard this administration is fighting to prevent funding SNAP. If you’re on the side that wants to starve people, you’re on the wrong side.

You don't need one of the expensive, Instagrammable hotels in the Douro Valley to have a memorable time.

Quinta do Valdalágea is a delightfully charming and affordable place to stay during your time in the Douro Valley.

I try to have three salads for lunch a week. It should not feel like such an accomplishment when I finish that third one 😝

Venice is filled with wonders. One of my faves is Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo. The design is magical, and a climb to the top reveals my fave view of Venice. The trick, and part of the fun, is finding it among Venice’s maze of tight alleyways.

Near the Convent of Christ in Tomar, Portugal is the Pegões Aqueduct, medieval aqueduct built by the Knights Templar.

It’s neat to see but the best part is you can climb old stairs to walk on the aqueduct. It’s a bit sketchy. To the left - narrow walkways. To the right - VERY high.

Was up there a few weeks ago. Seems like a simple thing but one of the best parts of my time in Portugal.
On the rooftop of the Cathedral of Evora - can’t believe they let people - me included - wander around up there unsupervised! #Photography #Portugal #Architecture 📷

Lived here almost two years and finally just put up our travel map. We got some pink pins to indicate places we’ve been with our 14-month-old (my wife could have picked a more distinct pink though lol). Excited to keep adding pins to the map!

The Chapel of Bones in Evora’s Franciscan church was built by monks in the 16th century as a reminder to society that death awaits us all regardless of our social status in life.

It’s a little eerie inside but actually mostly just peaceful.

Almourol Castle is a stunning castle perched high atop a small islet in Portugal.

It's worth a visit if you're driving through the area, but information on how to get there is scant and a bit confusing. This post fixes that!

Porto’s Stock Exchange Palace is filled with ornately furnished and decorated rooms that can only be seen with a tour.

Tix are a bit confusing, and English tours are only offered a few times per day. You can buy tix ahead of time, but then you still have to wait in line to reserve your time.

Split a Francesinha sandwich in Porto with Michelle. It’s filled with meat (beef, sausage, ham and roast), caked in cheese, topped with an egg and then doused in a beer-based tomato sauce. It’s a bit over the top but very good. Could I have ate the whole thing? 🤷‍♂️ Would I have regretted it? 🤷‍♂️ #porto
