In the third week of October the night sky in downtown Minneapolis was lit up by a curious sight: a flashing Bat Signal. It was Paul Westerberg's idea of a joke. To mark the release of Tim, the Replacements had decided to do something special. Rather than play a show in the main room at First Avenue, they elected to do a five-night stand at the 7th St Entry, one of them for an all-ages audience. "Paul's demands were that he wanted [a Batman] klieg light out for the gigs and free [soda] pop for the kids," said Jesperson. Real talk here. There's a certain pop star who I personally don't find that interesting but I do understand why everyone else loves her. What I don't get, though, is that her self-created public persona is how everyone is so mean to her when she is literally the world's most beloved celebrity.
