At @commonshealth.bsky.social, we heard from Solomon Tesfaye of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals about the real pressures NHS teams face when pilot projects are launched.

Consideration also needs to be given to the strain placed on staff, resources, and services, which are often already at their limit.

This week, at the @commonshealth.bsky.social hearing on NHS pilots, we heard from the Chief Executive of @sicklecelluk.bsky.social about evaluating pilots and their effectiveness.

After 25 years on the NHS frontline, I see the govt's 10-year health plan as our chance to finally make the vital 'left shift' to proactive, community care.

The human cost of delay is devastating but a better future is possible.

🚨 Gunter, Yenton & Chivenor Primary Schools will soon be opening one of Labour’s FREE breakfast clubs.

🚀 Breakfast clubs boost parents' work choices & children's life chances.

🚆 BREAKING: Services at Erdington & Gravelly Hill Stations return to public ownership.

After years of delays and decline, Labour is taking back control to put passengers first.

It’s time for a reliable, accountable railway that our communities deserve.

1/ My heart is broken.

Many people worked with Waseem or met him, but very few truly knew him. Our journey together lasted more than 23 years, and over that time he became far more than a colleague, he became family.

Fuel poverty hits millions, including right here at home in my own community.

This Labour government is acting:
⬇️ Cutting by £150
⬆️ Pay increase by £900
🧒 450,000 children lifted from poverty

Action, not words!

In the Commons today, speaking on behalf of the Health Committee on our ‘First 1000 Days’ report.

Getting support right in the earliest years changes everything. The government must now consider our crucial recommendations.

Christmas shows us it’s possible to have affordable, healthy food on the menu.

At @commonshealth.bsky.social, I asked how we can make this the norm all year, so everyone can access better diets and food environments.

Waiting lists are coming down, thanks to the incredible hard work of our NHS staff, backed by a Labour government.

In Birmingham alone, they fell by 1,256 in just one month. 👇🏿

At @commonshealth.bsky.social , I asked @sainsburys.bsky.social’ Head of Healthy & Sustainable Diets on about enforcement if the Government introduced mandatory policies to tackle obesity.
January 28, 2026 at 4:37 PM
At @commonshealth.bsky.social we heard from major supermarkets on their role in promoting healthier diets and food environments.

With voluntary action failing to curb obesity, I was keen to hear their views on whether stronger, mandatory policies are now needed.

My vision for Kingstanding’s £20million “Pride in Place” fund is all about bringing our communities together.

For too long, people have said Kingstanding is forgotten, left behind, or just an afterthought.

No more!

Reform = Tory 2.0.

They’ve just welcomed dozens of ex-Tory MPs, the same same people who gave us 14 years of chaos, a crashed economy, and brutal austerity.

With Reform, it’s not change, it’s Tories rebranded!

Today on #HolocaustMemorialDay, marking the liberation of Auschwitz, we remember the millions murdered and those who survived the unimaginable.

I've signed the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust's Book of Commitment to honour their memory and ensure their stories are never forgotten.

Attended @ageuklondon.bsky.social important drop-in on ending long A&E waits and corridor care.

Heard directly about the reality people face locally, and no one should ever be treated in a corridor.

We must bring down these dangerous waits for good!

But the conversation doesn’t stop here.

Great to hear so many ideas from residents this morning about the £20 million I secured for Kingstanding South East.

I promised the community would be at the heart of how this funding is spent, and I meant it.

Thank you to everyone who came along.

The Ockenden Review exposed failings in Nottingham's maternity services, and at @commonshealth.bsky.social we heard from GMC about the urgent steps being taken to improve safety and care.

Accountability is essential, and we will keep pressing for the urgent changes that families deserve.
