Last week, I met Pastor Aaron at Charlton Road Christian Church in Kingstanding.

I was truly inspired by his energy, passion, and plans for serving our community.

I look forward to working with him and others to build a better Kingstanding for everyone.

What an incredible evening at the Erdington Court Bowls Centenary Dinner, celebrating 100 years of this beloved community hub and its outstanding achievements.

A huge congratulations to everyone recognised for their contributions, and a special shoutout to Ray and David! 👏🏿

Honoured to lay a wreath at the War Memorial in Lighthouse Church, Pype Hayes, today.

I said a prayer for world peace as we remembered the brave souls who gave their lives for our freedom and democracy.

We will remember them. 🌺🇬🇧

Our communities in Erdington, Kingstanding, Castle Vale and South Oscott remember.

A poppy is laid in Parliament's Garden of Remembrance for all who served and sacrificed.

Lest we forget. 🙏🏿🇬🇧

A wonderful visit to Elim Life Church's Wellbeing Hub in Kingstanding!

Loved learning about 'The Shed', a welcoming space to eat, connect and find support. It's open Mon-Fri, 10am-2pm. No referral needed.

Thanks for the invite!

During our @commonshealth.bsky.social enquiry on Food and Weight Management, I asked Nika Pajda from @biteback2030.bsky.social about how mobile apps fuel unhealthy eating amongst young people.

With junk food marketed straight to our phones, it’s never been easier to make unhealthy choices.

Hoarding disorder is a complex challenge that no person, and no single agency, should have to face alone.

We need a joined-up, compassionate strategy to support people, protect homes, and build clear pathways to recovery.

Absolute honour to meet with the Commonwealth Secretary General, The Hon Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, with the CPA UK Executive Committee.

Valuable discussion on the vital role of parliamentarians in the Commonwealth, from supporting smaller states to shaping the agenda for CHOGM.

Today, I joined @mmhalliance.bsky.social in Parliament, where I heard directly from Black mothers.

Timely and effective support is transformative for maternal outcomes, yet Black mothers still face higher risks and systemic barriers to receiving appropriate care.

BREAKING: The iconic Joe Richards Fruiterer and Greengrocer has been saved by a customer.

This is fantastic news and a powerful reminder that our local shops are the beating heart of our high street.

Last week at the Health and Social Care Committee session for our new Healthy Ageing enquiry, I asked Prof Sir Muir Gray of University of Oxford about the 10-year plan.

A key focus must be to harness digital technology to boost physical activity among our elderly population.

It was a privilege to open an adjournment debate in Parliament on hoarding, a deeply misunderstood mental health condition.

Too many people suffer in silence. We must do more to support the vital work of organisations like Clouds End CIC.

So sad to hear Joe Richards Fruiterer is closing on Erdington High Street after 30 years.

A reminder of the challenges our local shops face. Let's support them while we can.

Thanks to the owners and staff for their decades of service, you will be missed.

Black History Month may be over, but our commitment to a more just, equal, and ambitious society continues.

I asked the Minister what concrete steps the government is taking to turn this vision into a reality.

Hoarding disorder is a hidden mental health condition, often visible in piles of clutter. For too long, it's been misunderstood.

Organisations like Clouds End CIC work tirelessly to offer support.

It's time we gave it the attention it deserves.
