Our president should take this day to emphasize that he embraces checks and balances, recognizes his subservience to Congress and the judiciary when it comes to statutes, appropriations, and the interpretation of law, and acknowledges that he is a servant even of those who did not vote for him.

Pretty sure HUNTR/X is already beating out the Monkees and Spinal Tap for the title of all-time most successful fictitious band. #KPDH

Is there even one black woman Donald Trump has consistently supported over the long haul? Who?

I live in the Tenleytown neighborhood of DC and am seeing LESS police protection than normal - not a single cop car all week even though we have a Metro stop. Could it be that DC police are being diverted to the more touristy areas Trump seems to care about?

Kamala could have won if she just incorporated into every speech the words: "I want you to be rich." But Dems can't bring themselves ever to talk that way. It is mystifying.

Why didn't Schumer and Pelosi hold extensive public hearings on Epstein when they were running Congress? I find it mystifying.

When civil unrest happens, some seem to freak out most about property damage such as burning cars and smashed storefronts. Others focus more on whether people were actually attacked and injured. Count me in the latter camp.

Exactly this.👇
The US has one political party that tiptoes on eggshells attempting not to offend anyone while the other blatantly lies while calling everyone who doesn't believe their propaganda a slur. If the Democratic party doesn't grow a spine and start going low, we are doomed.

Was chatting today with my son in West Hollywood CA when our call was interrupted by a big, loud helicopter flying directly over his home. "It feels like an occupied city here."

Can we get please some analysis from major media about why the House this year again failed to pass 12 appropriations bills in regular order?

In the 1950s and 1960s, TV was dominated by Westerns. Today that whole genre is basically gone. Why?

My 17-year old has to write an essay on whoever she views as "the greatest American ever." I am advocating she choose: Dwight Eisenhower. Am prepared to die on this hill.

Our President seems not to grasp that he heads but one of three co-equal branches of government.

Appears the new administration is intentionally disregarding an order of a federal court. If that is correct, we have officially entered the zone of constitutional crisis.

Remembering Gene Hackman by watching "Runaway Jury" tonight. Not one of the best, but as a trial lawyer it is one of my favorites.

I really hope Cynthia Erivo wins tonight. Never before have so many people rooted for an actor to fail, and then when we finally saw it she was so goddamn good that as far as I can tell no one has ever said a word of criticism. She was just that perfect for it.

As a former board member, it pains me to see the Administration zero out Catholic Charities entities like our Archdiocesean Legal Network here in DC. Conservatives fought for decades for services to be delivered by faith-based orgs, and now we're just throwing it all away. So tragic, so dumb.
